Rudy Gutierrez's illustrations for Papá and Me, also by Arthur Dorros, won the Pura Belpré Honor. He received a BFA from the Pratt Institute, where he currently teaches. He boasts a Gold Medal from the New York Society of Illustrators and was commissioned to do art for the acclaimed Santana Shaman CD cover. Rudy Gutierrez lives in Bogota, New Jersey.
