Laura Malone Elliott

BIOGRAPHY

L.M. Elliott is the author of the WWII novel, Under a War-torn Sky, a Notable Children's Trade Book in the Field of Social Studies (NCSS/CBC), a Jefferson Cup honor book for historical fiction, and winner of the Border's Original Voices Award for Young Adult Literature. She is also author of Annie, Between the States, an IRA/CBC Teachers' Choice and a New York Public Library Book for the Teen Age, plus Flying South. Along with illustrator Lynn Munsinger, Elliott has created a picture book series featuring two adorable raccoon characters dealing with the joys and pangs of friendship--Hunter's Best Friend at School, an IRA/CBC Children's Choice, and Hunter and Stripe and the Soccer Showdown, a Book Sense Children's Pick. She lives with her husband and their children in Virginia.
