  Jana M. Iverson, Ph.D.
Expert in developmental child psychology

Jana M. Iverson is Associate Professor of Psychology at the University of Pittsburgh. She received her Ph.D. in Psychology from The University of Chicago in 1996 and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Indiana University. Since 1991, she has been an international investigator at the Italian National Research Council in Rome, Italy. She is the co-editor of a book and author of more than twenty articles on the relationship between gesture and language in children's communication. Her current research is funded by the National Institutes of Health and focuses on early communicative development and the transition to gesture and language in infants and toddlers.

Ms. Alfano holds a Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctorate degrees in Elementary Education, as well as a Master's degree in Business Administration. Her professional affiliations are the International Toy Research Association, Human Factors and Ergonomics Society, National Association for the Education of Young Children, Association for the Childhood Education International, Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, International Reading Association, and others.

Ms. Alfano has been a keynote speaker at conferences in the US as well as in Europe and the Far East on various subjects including, "The Importance of Play in a Child's Development," "Making Toys for a Global Market," "Play Builds Brain Power; Toys Boost Intelligence," and many more. In addition, Ms. Alfano writes articles about child development topics for the Fisher-Price website as well as for various magazines worldwide

Dr. Weber is widely regarded as an expert in early childhood development. She is the Manager for the Fisher-Price Child Research Department, which is the toy industry's most respected center for research on childhood development and play. This center is dedicated to the progression of research and practice, thereby impacting the conception and development of innovative toys and children's products.

Dr. Weber holds a Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctorate degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education.
